Meet your Captain

Born and raised in the Big Bear Valley, Chris Bellows is an avid outdoorsman with skiing, mountain biking and sailing. In the early 1980's, he crewed for Hobie's catamaran in competitions in California. His love for the water has been his first love - and so here he is today as the owner and captian of the BIG BEAR QUEEN since 1989, taking over the helm from his father who was the owner and captain for decades prior.

The BIG BEAR QUEEN was built for Big Bear in 1973, replacing the Old Sierra, the original boat tour from the 1930's. The brand name of BIG BEAR QUEEN with it's original hull design has been taking passengers in Big Bear Lake for tours since 1965. This is the longest running tour for Big Bear Lake.

The lake is gorgeous now as the water levels has significantly risen due to the great winter snow falls! Come experience this beauty while learning about Big Bear Valley's vast history, going all the way back to the Gold Rush times. Pets are welcome aboard. Book your tickets today!
